Harry Potter

Who is he? 
An imaginary boy wizard, created by British author J.K. Rowling, who confronts various manifestations of evil as he grows into young adulthood.  The series of Harry Potter books led to a series of very successful movies for the boy wizard.

What's the big deal?  
Author J.K. Rowling has tapped into children's imaginations with Harry Potter and his friends at Hogwarts Academy.  Both the books and movies have smashed sales records, and even many adults are professed Potter fans, although some Christians have been critical of the occult themes in the series.

How popular is he?
In 2000 Harry Potter became the best selling children's books of all times.  The 2005 movie ("Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire") is one of the top grossing movies in history.
