A wild horse grazes on marsh
grass on Cumberland Island. Descendants of horses left behind
by plantation owners, some 150 horses populate the island. The
ruins of Dungeness Mansion, rebuilt by Thomas and Lucy Carnegie in
the 1880s, lie in the background.
