A
statue of Shep the border collie stands in the foreground of the
Grand Union Hotel in Fort Benton, Montana. Shep's owner died
and his body was shipped out by rail. For the next six years,
Shep waited in vain for his owner to return, greeting ever train
which arrived in town.
